NP Atobarai Joins the Saleor App Store
With the release of NP Atobarai App, population of Saleor payment apps increases!
We've added a new entry to the Saleor App Store: the NP Atobarai App, an integration with one of Japanâs most established payment providers.
This is a meaningful release for a few reasons:
Global Platform, Local Payments
Commerce doesnât look the same everywhere, and Saleor is built to reflect that.
NP Atobarai is a long-standing, trusted player in Japanâs e-commerce ecosystem. As a pioneer of âBuy Now, Pay Laterâ payments, it plays a major role in how millions of people shop online.
Bringing NP Atobarai to the App Store reflects our broader philosophy of building Saleor as a platform that adapts to real-world, region-specific commerce needs.
Checkout Flows That Match Reality
Extensibility alone isn't enough. Local payment providers often come with unique flows that donât fit neatly into generic patterns.
NP Atobarai was our litmus test for the Transactions API, showing it can handle both standard 3D Secure flows and BNPL-style payments.
Migrating from Plugins
The first NP Atobarai integration was built as a plugin â the way we used to extend Saleor. Since then, weâve been moving toward an app-based model.
Plugins still work and arenât going anywhere, but for us, apps are easier to maintain and a better fit for composable software. Thatâs why we decided to port Atobarai into an app. For context on the reasoning behind this transition, see our âApps & Plugins Directionâ decision record.
The NP Atobarai App is available now in the Saleor App Store.
