Customer Types and Attributes
Segment your customers and attach structured data to their accounts — using the same attribute system you already know from products and models.
Imagine assigning attributes to customers, the same way you already do for products, variants, and models. A VAT number, a loyalty tier, a contract expiry date, an assigned sales rep — whatever your business runs on, stored right on the account.
That's what landed. Customer types let you segment customers: B2B and retail, wholesale tiers, membership levels. Customer attributes let you attach structured data to their accounts. Same attribute system you know, now pointed at people.
How it works
Every customer gets a customer type, and the type decides which attributes that customer can have. You define a type, pick its attributes, and fill in the values.
What you can do with it
The obvious ones first: keep loyalty tiers on the account and read them in your storefront, or give B2B accounts the fields they've always needed — VAT number, company size, contract dates, account manager.
You can search and filter customers by type and by attribute values, so "all Gold members among our B2B accounts" is a single query rather than a report you export and sift through.
Beyond that, the shape is yours. Referral sources, support tiers, franchise territories, dietary preferences, onboarding status — if you can model it, you can store it, query it, and act on it.
Full details and examples are in the customer types documentation.
